Yesterday, Birthday

Fri Nov 20, 2009, 2:20 PM
:icongreenfreak3339:

So, yesterday was my b-day. I had to work 9-5 but it was ok. I got off work and my family and I went out to eat at Mo Brady's. That's my new favorite restaurant. My boyfriend and I go there often because of their food and prices. It's wonderful. I got some money, too. Those will go towards X-mas gifts :XD: Ironic huh? My gift money is going to be gifted.

Other than my birthday yesterday, I want to ramble. If you don't want to read, you can stop now ;p A while ago, I decided to do a personal project. It's been done several times but I felt I could do it and do it better (though, I'm not so religious about 'doing it better' ). It's the project of taking pics of things that look like letters of the alphabet but that are not actually letters. I have several shots and I have multiples as well, at least somewhere. Most of the letters are on the flash drive that I have lost. That still upsets me. But someday, I hope to make banners for myself and spell out my name or screen name and such. When I'm done taking pics of all the letters (and find the lost ones), I'll post them. I just hope no one uses them. I have thought about doing other projects that I've heard of other people doing. Someone here on DA was doing a project of taking a pic everyday for one year. Now, these pics were supposed to be a challenge; not just taking a snap shot of something. This person strove to look for an interesting shot. Yes the subjects were random and mostly everyday things but they tried to be creative about it to challenge him or herself to see if they could improve. I really like that idea but I don't think I'm quite ready to make such a huge commitment to myself. I mean, a whole YEAR? EVERYDAY? Maybe next year, as in 2011 ;p

Last night, I jumped to the forums here on DA. I found a thread in Deviant Thumbshare that I thought was very interesting. I almost posted but I decided not too. The thread was to post about 4 thumbs telling a story about you. The images were to represent something about you and tell a story. Most of the stories told were sad. Mine wasn't really sad (depending on how you look at it); it's more pathetic. I didn't post it because I didn't think my images were well executed enough to tell a story. That's probably not true but I still didn't post. I think that thought is a great idea too. I may try to post again but I do think I should do a project about that too. Do a project on yourself through photography. I don't think that would be easy. Trying to find things to photograph that tell a story about you isn't simple, at least for me. I've found that I do pretty well just randomly finding things to photograph. It's VERY hard for me to set out and have a predetermined idea of what to photograph. I've learned that from my photography course. When a unit project comes up, I have a difficult time 'finding' the requirements to fulfill my project. Anyway, I may jump back on and try to muster up courage to post my story. My story is just about my future. I'm scared of the unknown and I question myself about the "What if..." so much that it stops me from truly pursuing my goals and dreams. I think I already have images to show that so I may post.

Ok, I'm really rambling and I'm sure no one is readin' this but I feel better to write it.

*Pats on the back* Great job on the helmet! I like it too. It's simple but it does it's job to protect the head. The side view of the shield is excellent by the way. However, as you said, the rest isn't the greatest. But it's a good start!
I feel bad now... You didn't have to draw it if you were tired! :worry: I hope you don't feel like you need to please me. Draw the way you want to and I'll tell ya what I think :aww:
